Lokesh Sharma is currently pursuing his graduate degree in genetic engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology in India. He took HMX Genetics to complement his knowledge as he works toward a career in the field.
How did HMX Genetics fit with what you’re studying in graduate school?
The subject which I am studying right now – genetic engineering – and what I studied in HMX Genetics were quite different. HMX Genetics [offered] quite deep knowledge. In my program in genetic engineering, I get some more practical applications because there are labs and things like that. But HMX Fundamentals created my base for that.
What parts of the course did you find most helpful for your learning?
The most helpful parts of the course were the animations and the practical applications. There were examples of certain people with a genetic disease; real patients, and you saw how the doctors treated them, and that inspired me a lot. That built up my understanding. I can relate myself to that situation.
Would you recommend the course to other students at your level?
I recommended it to some of my friends – they may be attending HMX Fundamentals in genetics and immunology; I’m also thinking about doing immunology.
Anything else you’d like to share?
The concepts which were presented in HMX Fundamentals were crystal clear. Also the teachers were awesome teachers. I have been searching for these types of teachers in India for quite a long time, and I found it in HMX Fundamentals finally.
